James Winston papers, 1733-1871.

The bulk of the papers are manuscript notes, probably autograph, and clippings arranged by Winston under subject headings, usually the name of a theater or actor, but also general topics such as "Balloons." These have been arranged in folders alphabetically by subject. There are some letters to Wilson, the bulk from Edmund John Eyre, and other correspondence to or from actors contemporary to Wilson. Also includes a manuscript document concerning the rights of play authors to free admission to performances and part of a printed poem.
